A peek inside lifestyle mogul Aerin Lauder’s Park Avenue apartment and office which was designed by Jacques Grange shows just how intricately linked are fashion and interior design.
A blue grey wallpaper from Gracie gives the dressing room a whimsical feel while a gold gilted ottoman upholstered in yellow adds contrast and a touch of glamour.
A green sofa adds colour and personality to the main room of Aerin’s office. While a large antique mirror adds a sense of drama to the space.
In the conference room, gold chairs, a matching cabinet and mirrored table lend a glamourous feel.
A gold gilted vitrine displays a variety of vintage pieces and company prototypes. An accent chair mimics the structural simplicity of the cabinet giving a balanced look.

Today, I’ve decided to share some inspiring pictures from de Gournay‘s Chinoiserie Collection. Reproduced from 18th Century historic prints, they come in a variety of colourways and styles. From elegant to whimsical, these wallpapers and fabrics truly transform a space and work perfectly in a traditional or contemporary setting. Below are some of my favourites.

This St. Patrick’s day be inspired by the colour green. In the dining room above, green paint covers the upper half of the wall while below the dado rail, a wallpaper in a white and green colourway adds visual interest. Curvy shapes of the furniture pieces lend a fluid feel. White accents give a crisp feel. Pops of turquoise give a sense of balance and harmony to the overall scheme. Here’s how to create the look:
Last Saturday, I had gone for the “Made In Jordan” Exhibition which was held at ADNEC (Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company) in Abu Dhabi. The event was organised by the Promise Welfare Society from the 6th to the 8th of this month. It featured handcrafted home accessories, mosaics, faux bijou, art and even local produce like olive oil. All the proceeds from the event went to education fund for underprivileged gifted children. While I browsed through the stalls, I came across a lot of inspiring pieces. Below are some of my unique finds.
I really loved these pottery pieces made from ceramic and glass. They would make excellent accents for a console table, kitchen hutch or even a coffee table.
And check out this colourful and boldly patterned lampshade. It would be great for creating a boho vibe.
For something a little more elegant, why not go for this teacup and saucer set with Arabic calligraphy.
These contemporary tables with inlaid Jordanian fabrics are the perfect piece for a modern home with their sleek and simple lines. While the fabric adds interest and an ethnic touch.
I really loved these mosaic vases. They are a good statement piece and would provide textural interest to any space.
If you wish to add a splash of colour to your space, how about this authentic Jordanian painting featuring a rural scene?
And for a more traditional feel, this handcrafted tapestry would look great in living room or dining area.
