So with Christmas barely a week and a half away, most of us are busy with shopping, baking and getting our homes all ready for the holiday season. What I really love about this time of year is one the baking and second decorating the Christmas tree. At home, it has been a long standing tradition for my sister and I to get the tree all decked up. But this year, with her being in the US and me being in the UAE, the tree decorating has fallen solely on my shoulders. And to add to that, my tree isn’t with me, it’s all the way in India. But, this has not deterred me in the least, I plan on buying a small one by next week or so to trim to the max. So while I wait to get it, I’ve decided to get some inspiration on how to decorate it this year. Here are some trees which I found are truly inspiring and would really get you in the Christmas spirit.
This Christmas tree from Country Living has a natural rustic feel to it with pine cones lit from within , porcelain globes and fluffy ornaments. A hint of navy blue adds a lovely contrast to the brown and crisp white tones.
If you wish to go for a more Scandinavian Christmas theme trim your tree with a few ornaments and twinkle lights for a look that is simple yet very chic. (image source: Mokkasin)
This frosted Christmas tree from Designrulz (original source unknown) trimmed with teal, gold and vintage style ornaments has an elegant and fantastical feel to it which is perfect for this season.
You’ve just got to admire Tobi Fairley. I absolutely love her whimsical and bold take on this tree with the vivid colours and not to mention the sock monkeys which are so are adorable!!
Another Tobi Fairley favourite of mine is this Christmas which is a little non-traditional but nevertheless fresh and inspiring. Here, she has used citrus colours and fruit for an bold, energising feel.
You can never truly go wrong with a Peppermint Christmas theme and this space just proves it. The tree has been trimmed with candy cane inspired bows, white baubles, snowmen and frosted pine cones for an elegant and timeless look. (Image via South Shore Decorating Blog)
A modern cut out metal tree contrasts with historical elements in this space. Decorated with gold and silver ornaments and simple garlands, the overall effect is quite stunning. (Image via South Shore Decorating Blog)

For a more non-traditional colour scheme for this Christmas, take a cue from Lonny magazine as seen here and trim your tree in pink ribbon and purple and white baubles. As a finishing touch, layer the bottom of your tree with lime green wrapped presents for a look that is stylish and festive.
